MACHU PICCHU WAS NOT DAMAGED AT ALL!!

Cusco, February 01, 2010 "We are sure that the millions of tourists who come to Peru will come back when the rainy season is over," said the minister of Foreign Trades and Tourism, Marín Pérez. "Machu Picchu is in perfect conditions" from the area of Intipunku to the House of the Guardian; it was verified this afternoon at the Inca citadel by Minister of Foreign Trades and Tourism, Martin Perez, and the regional government officials of Cuzco, who were optimistic about the reactivation of the tourism activity when the rains are over. "A picture is worth a thousand words. We are in perfect conditions and this is a message to the world. As soon as we restore the railway, main means of communication with Machupicchu, we are sure that the millions of tourists that are always with us in Peru will return again,” told the minister to N Channel. "The platforms and the main square are also in good conditions, as you can see," Perez said pointing the famous Inca group. The representative of the Executive noted that the Government is working to restore communication between Machu Picchu and Cusco by rail, since the landslide caused by torrential rains this week prevented the flow of tourists to the area.
